The purpose of machine guarding is to protect the machine operator and other employees in the work area from hazards created during the machine’s regular operation. In the Machine Guarding Series we will cover LOTO, fixed barriers, and interlocked guards in the workplace.
Fixed barriers are one type of guard that can protect workers with machine guarding. In this video, Jim Hallford will show you an example of a fixed barrier and how that barrier protects workers from the hazards presented by a machine’s operation.
