When we are reviewing claims data for trends, we often find trends that begin during the first quarter of the year and remain constant as the year progresses. In 2022, we will review our claims statistics from each quarter with you to display the top types of injuries, injury causes, and trends developing across the fund.
For the first quarter of 2022, the following are our top five claim types by total incurred value:
- Slip, trip, and fall – 87 claims for $460,800 total incurred.
- Object Handled – 43 claims for $123,826 total incurred.
- Struck or Injured – 13 claims for $111,266 total incurred.
- Powered Hand Tool – 9 claims for $97,803 total incurred.
- Pushing/Pulling – 14 claims for $81,857 total incurred.
Each of the five categories listed can cause devastating injuries that can, in certain instances, be life-altering injuries for your employees.
